New Words, Slides, & Shoes!

We love seeing her personality evolve!  Right now, she’s obsessed with shoes.  She always has at least one shoe on, sometimes, two different shoes & usually they’re on the wrong feet.

Peyton is really starting to talk a TON.  Her new favorite words are: “No,” “uummee” (which is corn) & Yes, Ayi.  We love hearing her speak in our native language.  She’s started to pick up these words just in the last few days!

She really enjoys coloring.  We got new markers and she can't put them down!  We'll need to get some coloring books sent over bc we can't find any here!

Blue Armed Monster

For the last couple of weeks I've noticed that Tyler's arms were REALLY blue.  I had mentioned it a few times and thought nothing of it until yesterday when I looked at his arms and they looked like they were about to fall off bc they were so blue.  We contacted doctors immediately bc we were not sure what was going on. The Doctors wanted to see pictures ASAP and began going through his medical history.  In the meantime, we were talking to Tyler's parents to find out if they knew anything that would help us find out what was wrong.  Tyler's mom asked us if his arms could be blue bc of the navy sheets that are on our bed.  She said to get some finger nail polish and wipe it on his arms and see if it comes off.  And YES, it came right off!!  How crazy?!  Tyler's thinking he could have blood clots, blood flow issues, etc and it was dye from our sheets (that we have washed many times)!  Oh and how embarrassing was it to email the Doctors back and tell them it was blue dye?!

We Made It!

After two days of traveling, we arrived at our apartment where there was a bed and 3 couches.  We were very thankful for the bed and couches being completely exhausted and ready for a full nights sleep!

Peyton is adjusting really well.  For the most part, she is sleeping great at night…there have been a few nights where she has woken up screaming, like she’s had a nightmare or something.

Peyton and Tyler both had a little bug of some sort.  She threw up in our bed (after having diarrhea in her bed) so that was a very long night.  Tyler caught a bug the next day.  Thankful, that I haven’t caught anything.   Currently, we are all well and feeling great!

We have been out shopping every day for furniture and other necessities to fill our apartment.  Peyton’s bedroom furniture was delivered yesterday and I love it!  The only downside: we thought the bed frame was for a twin and when we put the twin mattress on the frame we found that the mattress was too long and not wide enough.  Now we will be buying a new mattress.  Our bedroom furniture hasn’t arrived so we are currently sleeping on two double mattresses pushed together.  We have the largest bed ever!  Our coffee table was supposed to be delivered yesterday and we have yet to see it.  Hopefully, it’ll be here today…it’s weird having to put everything on the floor bc we don’t have any furniture to set stuff on.

We have amazing views from every window.  We’re on the 21st floor so you can see everything.   It rains a lot in our city.  Yesterday, we got caught in a monsoon and were soaked from head to toe.  We were walking down the street with water up to our ankles.  Who even knows what was floating around in that water?!  Ha!

There is an amusement park that’s not too far from here; we are hoping to check it out later this week!  I’m off to unpack more stuff while Tyler is out buying a stovetop and a hair straightener.  Thank you all for the love and encouragement!  Pictures will come soon!

Girly Time!

Peyton loves to watch me get ready in the morning! She'll put her lips out when I put chapstick on, she'll watch me paint my nails etc. I sat her down on the counter and she watched me paint her toenails! Didn't move once! I could do this when she was little, but hadn't painted them in a while bc I figured she'd want to touch the brush. Nope! She sat so still while I painted her toes! OH and I LOVE her little, puffy feet! :)

First Haircut!

I waited for Peyton to turn one before she got her first haircut, even though she needed one before that. We found this cute little children's hair salon called "Pigtails & Crewcuts." We were literally there for 5 minutes, but it was totally worth it :)

Before

She did so well! Loved the car!

Almost done!

My new bob!
We got a little package with her picture and a piece of her hair. I love it! :)
